Intense rain and floods in the Indian state of Assam have killed at least 85 people and many have been displaced. Rescue teams were facing a double challenge of rising floodwaters amid the novel coronavirus as villagers driven from their homes huddled in shelters.This year, floods devastated Assam three times in two months. Over 54 lakh people of 30 out of 33 districts of the state have been affected in this year’s floods so far.
